Barbecued Ribs

RibsThe secret to delicious, tender, moist meats is a long slow cooking of said meat. Too many times people rush it like they rush everything else in life. I am all for instant gratification in most arenas of my life. I have learned through the years that in the kitchen arena, slow and steady wins the race. Today I share a great recipe for slow cooked ribs. We make these ribs in the oven, not on the grill, so you can enjoy them year round. Include some delicious cornbread, baked potato and some cobbler and I believe we have a meal.

Ingredients:

2 lb. ribs
1 lemon, sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 c. ketchup
1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of Tabasco
1/2 c. water

Preheat oven 425. Place ribs in baking pan, meaty side up. On each piece, place a slice of lemon. Roast 30 minutes. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over ribs. Reduce heat to 350 and bake 2 hours, basting several times. Serves 2.

Obviously, you can double, triple, etc this recipe. Take your time and you won’t be disappointed.
