Limeade
I love lemonade and could drink it over lots of ice all day, every day of the hot summer. I have never once given a thought to making a limeade until I found this recipe. It isn’t as quick as squeezing a few limes, adding water and sugar and calling it an ade. You need to invest a few minutes but the outcome is well worth it. I would triple this recipe if you have company. Quadruple it if its one of ‘those’ hot days. It is very refreshing.
Ingredients:
6 limes
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. boiling water
pinch of salt
lime slices to make it pretty
Cut each lime in half and squeeze. Place skins in a jug then stir in sugar followed by boiling water. Cover and leave for 15 minutes. Stir in salt. Strain into another jug and add lime juice. Leave to cool, then cover and chill. Serve over ice with the pretty lime slices.
Sometimes I cut the lime amount in half, using only three and add three lemons. It makes a Sprite flavor without the carbonation. Enjoy!
